At LifeAbility Plan Management, we understand that navigating the NDIS can be confusing, time-consuming and you often feel like your questions echo, without answers. LifeAbility Plan Management are here to be a support system that empowers you to gain clarity so you can make informed choices, make the most of your budget and get your time back. Let’s shed some light on how NDIS Plan Management can help you.

NDIS Plan Management Means NO Cost to You

Plan Management services are free to you! You simply need to have ‘Improved Life Choices’ added to your plan during your planning meeting.

When you choose to be plan managed by a trusted Plan Manager you will not have any out-of-pocket expenses. Example: If you choose to be Self-Managed you may need to pay your providers first, then you will claim your money back via the (clunky) NDIS MyPlace portal. If there are any errors, you may be short paid or not reimbursed at all.

When you are plan managed, your service provider will send their invoice directly to LifeAbility Plan Management and we will liaise with the NDIS to have your invoices paid correctly and promptly. You may find that there are occasions where you need to purchase an approved item. In this instance, LifeAbility Plan Management will also organise for you to be reimbursed quickly.

What do you need to do to be Plan Managed? First you need to have ‘Improved Life Choices’ added to your plan. You can do this at your initial planning meeting OR if you already have a plan, speak to your plan writer, and ask if you can have 'Improved Life Choices' added to your plan. Then Contact Us to register for plan management OR register yourself via our Registration Page.

Are you already Plan Managed and want to switch to LifeAbility Plan Management? Sure, we can help you with this, head to our Registration Page and fill it in to start the process OR give us a call and we can help you through the registration process.

  • Reporting to the NDIS on your behalf.

  • Reporting to you monthly so you can stay on target to reach your NDIS goals and on top of your Plan Budget.

What are the alternatives to NDIS Plan Management?

Agency Managed

The NDIA manages your funding for you. With this option you cannot use non-registered providers, so you are limited in service providers. This is especially difficult if you live in a remote or regional area where registered service providers are limited.

Agency Managed is the default option for managing your Plan, so if you do not specify that you want to be Plan Managed or Self-Managed in your planning meeting you will be Agency Managed.

If you care mid-plan and want to change to Plan Management call the NDIS on 1800 800 110. Remember you can always refer to the health care professional that wrote your plan with you, for guidance on getting a Plan Review or you can give us a call, we’re here to help.

Self-Managed

As a Self-Managed participant, you will have all the freedom of choice of providers and all the administrative work and potential stress that comes along with it. It can be a full-time job (that’s what we’re here for).

When you choose to be Self-Managed, you will need to pay your providers, lodge documents to the NDIS, claim your funds and budget your plan funding and if you have any questions about the management process you will need to call the NDIS call centre for answers and support.

With this option you have the flexibility of choosing registered and non-registered providers. Also, with this option you may find that there are out of pocket expenses.
